Nakaseke Nrm Leaders Urged To Unite Ahead Of Local Council Elections

The State Minister for Kampala and Nakaseke Central Member of Parliament, Joseph Kabuye Kyofatogabye, has called on National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders in Nakaseke District to put aside their differences and work together to secure victory in the upcoming LC1 village chairperson elections.
Speaking during the dedication of Our Lady of Consolata Kapeeka Parish Church, Kyofatogabye said village leadership remains the foundation of effective governance and service delivery.

“We may have different opinions as leaders, but this is the time to unite and ensure the NRM wins the LC1 elections because strong village leadership is the foundation of good governance and effective service delivery,” Kyofatogabye said.
He noted that although some party leaders have disagreements on various issues, they should set them aside and focus on winning grassroots elections scheduled for this month.
The dedication ceremony was led by the Kasana-Luweero Diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Lawrence Mukasa, who thanked government for its continued support to the Catholic Church, particularly in church construction and community development programmes that have improved the welfare of Christians.
“We appreciate the government’s continued partnership with the Church. The support towards church construction and community development programmes has greatly improved the lives of our Christians,” Bishop Mukasa said.
Mukasa praised the transformation and development in Kapeeka, saying government support has been instrumental in strengthening the Church’s mission. He also acknowledged the contribution of Gen. Salim Saleh in supporting the construction of the parish church.
Rev. Fr. Hilary Muheezangango commended government for restoring peace and development in Kapeeka, an area that was heavily affected during the liberation war.
