Uganda Premier League giants KCCA have promoted Brian Ssenyondo to the position of head coach ahead of the 2026/27 season, ending the co-coaching arrangement that previously saw him share technical responsibilities with Jackson Magera Kaddu.
The decision follows a disappointing 2025/26 campaign in which the Lugogo-based side finished second in the Uganda Premier League with 62 points, five behind champions Vipers, before exiting the Stanbic Uganda Cup at the quarterfinal stage after a penalty shootout loss to URA.

Under the new structure, Ssenyondo takes full charge of the technical bench, while Magera remains in the setup as first assistant coach. Simeon Massa has been appointed second assistant coach.
In a statement, KCCA said the restructuring is aimed at building a more unified technical system under a single head coach.
“Ssenyondo takes full charge of the technical wheel. To ensure a cohesive system, the club has surrounded him with top-tier tacticians,” the club said.
“Ssenyondo will be directly supported by Jackson Magera Kaddu as the 1st Assistant Coach and Simeon Massa as the 2nd Assistant Coach,” it added.
Ssenyondo’s appointment marks another step in his coaching career, which has included spells at Synergy, Mbarara City, UPDF, and Kitara.
His most notable domestic achievement came in 2024 when he guided Kitara FC to the Stanbic Uganda Cup title.
